In Her Own Words
I was born in the Deep South (Georgia)
and currently am living in Northern California’s wine country
where I have a beautiful backyard full of flowers and enjoy the sound
of running water falling from a lion’s head into a pool below.
I like classical music and am a lover of animals, especially dogs
and cats. Recently, I have had to downsize from German Shepherds
to a gentle and affectionate Maine Coon cat named JoJoe, who loves
the garden and suns himself on a low level stone retaining wall.
My little spirit guide Magnolia frequently brings my five cats down
from heaven to visit JoJoe and me. My husband, who has been in spirit
for twenty years, brings the eleven German Shepherds who take turns
coming to visit.
JoJoe apparently sees both the cats and dogs very clearly and is
most accepting of them. In fact, when I was working on Animal
News from Heaven, the spirit communicants
would frequently bring the animals they had trained. We had Nissa,
the leopard, Rex, the lion, Rin Tin Tin, Morris, the cat, and a number
of others. JoJoe never showed fear because the vibrations of these
animals were so gentle. As I am now channeling some spirit animal
stories from Ernest Hemingway, he comes frequently, bringing a couple
of his 30 odd cats to join JoJoe for a visit and a kitty-cat chat.
I am also finishing up A Second
Peek Beyond the Pearly Gates, which will
be published in early 2009. It will contain stories on many
different subjects from people who contributed much to our
country and to the world. Included are many former presidents
and first ladies, Mother Teresa, Albert Einstein, Isaac Stern
and numerous others, In addition, I am teaching and developing
material for a book on the Bible, making it relevant for today
by interpreting it from a Spiritualist’s
point of view.
I have worked as a family counselor, with seniors, and in community
organization. While I enjoyed social work, it did not bring me the
depth of soul fulfillment that I was seeking. So in1972 I went on
a spiritual path, studying the teachings that are in my Conquering
Soul books and in the book Meditations
to Empower Your Soul. Studying and continually
struggling to apply these principals as best I can has led to becoming
a certified spiritual healer, clairvoyant, trance medium, spiritual
development teacher, psychic artist, and ordained Spiritualist minister.
I learned the hard way that spiritual unfoldment does not come easily.
It is only by raising one’s consciousness that we progress.
As an artist, I dabble in oils, watercolors and pastels, doing portraits
of spirit guides in pastels. The most rewarding artwork, however
is painting flowers on porcelain, a love I inherited from my mother
who was also a china painter. It is a delicate medium in which transparency
is achieved by applying thin layers of color similar to watercolor
technique. The process was developed over two thousand years ago.
The design is painted several times to build up depth of color. Each
painting is followed by exposure to heat of approximately 1500 degrees.
When a painted piece goes into the kiln there is a period of anticipation.
Is it going to be a masterpiece? But, never forgetting it is not
how it turns out; the real beauty and joy is in the doing. I also
make and sell one-of-a-kind beaded necklaces with hand painted porcelain
medallions.
I have one daughter, Angelique, who with her husband Bill, own an
online bakery (www.divinedelights.com). They specialize in hand decorated
petites fours and other upscale goodies.
